Michael: As I hear you speaking, one drug, for me, wasn’t enough. I needed another high. I needed to feel higher than the high that I had established with that one drug so it would just be one on top of the other. What does this do? And what does this do? And what does this do? Sounds like a similar road that you traveled.

Joe: I don’t think there is any such thing as a pure alcoholic. Almost everyone has multiple addictions because again—I believe addiction is a solution—it sounds weird to some people. My goal, having built the Genius Network and all the stuff that I do for a living, I am just using my marketing skills to change the global conversation about how people view and treat addicts with compassion instead of judgement. I am looking to find the best forms of treatment that have efficacy and then sharing those with the world. So it is rare that you are going to find just an alcoholic, or a drug addict, or a sex addict, or a gambling addict, or a food addict, or an Internet addict, or a workaholic.
